Oiling System and Interior

The oil coolers, brackets, thermostat, oil tank and hard lines are mounted. It all tucks neatly behind the RSR front bumper.

The alcantara headliner is in.  The roll around mounts are done.  The alcantara dash with green stitching is done.  Seats and steering are almost finished too.

The Speedway Green PPSR4.1 is a Roller!

The suspension pieces were hand finished and micro-coated to protect against corrosion.  The Ohlins TTX36 coil overs are now holding the car up, as it rolls on its new wheels and tires for the first time.

Don't panic!  This is not the ride height!  Obviously the car will drop a couple of inches between the weight of the drivetrain, oil and fuel systems as well as interior and fluids.  Then it will be adjusted to RSR spec.

Home Sweet Home

With the Green Machine back from the paint shop, we have removed all the suspension pieces for powder coating, mono-balling, wheel bearings and the new Ohlins TTX36 shocks!  The brakes are being finalized (remember, they have to fit inside of the 15" wheels).  Oil cooling and tank are being installed and the fuel system is cleaned and upgraded.

More soon!

Finishing touches on body, bumpers and wheelwells

The front and rear bumper mounts have been finalized by Joe at The Ultimate Paint Shop in Highland Park.  As pretty as the exposed carbon fiber weave is, under the fenders, some stone protection is necessary.  We're still deciding if we want to run plastic wheelwell liners.  The weave will be left 'naked' under the hood and deck lid. Final wet da finding and polishing Monday.

Final paint and body details

Hood, deck lid and doors are fitted.  The last few small items were painted.  The gas door, (no there won't be a center filler on the hood) the DP mirrors and the trim rings for the headlights.
Bumpers and latches will get done next week.  Then we can modify (raise) the jack points and start doing the new suspension and brakes.
The engine has been on hold for new cylinder base shims, to get the piston deck heights perfect.  They'll be here next week.  Then final assembly of the long block can be completed.

Assembly of the Four Point One Bottom End

The 4.1 liter case is now assembled.  The piston deck height is currently a little high but will be adjusted to perfection using custom made Rothsport Racing cylinder base shims.  Since cylinders will be slipping into the spigot bores in the case with O-rings, the shims don't affect sealing and allowed us to improve connecting rod angle with longer Pauter rods.  Like everything else on this car, it will be perfect!

Really Coming Together now!!

The Speedway Green paint is done on the car.  The assembly of the body panels, the front and rear lids and doors should be done this week.  The engine is all here and ready for final assembly.
