Core engine

When we build a normally aspirated engine to this power level, we reuse a surprisingly small list of parts taken from this tear down.  The crankshaft, crankcase, intermediate shaft, and cam housings are reused.  The rest are paperweights and boat anchors.  The biggest concern is the condition of the crankshaft and case.  I'm happy because they both look good on this one.  Depending on rev limit, a 997 GT3R crankshaft, oil pump and titanium rods are preferred.  We especially recommend these for track use.  All the studs are pulled now (yeah we got that gnarly broken one out, no problem) and we'll start readying the case for reassembly.  This means boring the crankcase for the 3.8 liter spigots at 109mm.  They also need to be o-ringed since the top o-ring surface will be machined nearly completely away.  There is some crankcase reinforcement and dimensional checking for alignment of the main bearing bores.  Crack checking and new head studs and hardware, then we have some cleaning to do, and then more cleaning.  Did I say we have a bunch of cleaning to do now?  We like things clean and very shiny.
Here some shiny 3.8 Turbo Mahle P's $ C's. We are finalizing some details with Mahle, Carrillo and Colin at 9M on our 964 engine.
